Even though several insurance carriers such as AIG, Travelers and Fireman's Fund are beginning to promote "green" policy language they have been hesitant to really promote their products.  Green Business Insurance is an aggressive insurance distributor practically begging for carriers to partner with us but their ambivalent approach has been frustrating.  We are going to have to go this one alone in the beginning to get the ball rolling by reducing our commission for preferred green business.  We want to prove to insurance companies that green businesses deserve better insurance rates.

I spoke Gary Cook of Zurich Small Business this afternoon.  Gary is excited about working with Green Business Insurance to develope a program that will benefit green businesses.  He did say that it could be delayed with the Zurich/Farmers Insurance merger "program business could be delayed".  I'm sending Gary my powerpoint presentation for his review and to share with senior management.  We hope to have a sales and marketing plan in place by June or July.

This morning I met with Travelers Insurance representitive Cody Tyler.  Wow, I'm impressed.  Travelers thinks green by rewarding hybrid vehicle owners with a 10% insurance premium discount.  Internally Cody shared with me that Travelers has recalled computers and will be replacing them with more efficient machines and recycling the previous machines.  Cody also said that management is reiterates to employees the importance of recycling and minimizing the use of paper.

I'm also excited to report that Green Business Insurance, Inc can utilize 10% premium discount for green businesses!!!  Let the savings begin!
